Delonghi EC155 – Some Drawbacks:

• It does not have a built-in grinder. However, the fact that you can use ESE pods really makes up for it. Look online for a great ESE retailer and stock up for those days you don’t have time to grind beans.
• Because the wand is only 3.25 inches above the counter, you may need a special frothing cup that fits right. You can also put something under it to make the frother and cup height work out.
• There’s also only about 2.5 inches from the basket to the tray… it’s a little crowded.

Other Considerations:

• You’ll find that for a hot cappuccino it’s better to use warm milk for frothing (you can just heat it in the microwave or on the stove). Using cold milk as per the instructions cools off the drink too much.
• Take care not to overfill the filter! When you insert it, make sure the handle can go around at least two-thirds of the way.
• You’ll get better results if you let the machine warm up a bit.

The following considerations aren’t really a big deal, but they’ll help you get the best out of your DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the best espresso makers out there for regular home use. It has a lot of quality features you find on high-end machines, but it’s reasonably priced (you can easily find one for under $100 USD on Amazon.com).

It’s small, but really delivers a delicious brew and excellent froth. If you spend a lot of money going to coffee shops to get your favorite drinks, this little DeLonghi Espresso Maker is really a good investment.

A lot of people think that the higher the price, the better the machine, but in this case, it’s just not true. Sure, you can get a lot of bells and whistles on the high-priced machines, but this little powerhouse truly gives you everything you really need.
